Sonic the Hedgehog 3 trailer introduces Keanu Reeves’ broody Shadow

The primary Sonic the Hedgehog film was surprisingly nice (actually extra so than the outright horrible Borderlands or the all too secure Tremendous Mario Bros.), due to a genuinely humorous script and Jim Carrey going wild as Dr. Robotnik. After introducing Idris Elba’s Knuckles within the second movie (andhis personal Paramount+ TV collection), now we’re getting Sonic’s broody counterpart Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

Voiced by Keanu Reeves, who seems like an angstier John Wick within the trailer, Shadow is launched as an alien who has lived by tragedy and is out for some unspecified revenge. (His actual downside although, as followers of the Quick and Livid franchise will let you know, is his lack of #household.)

Judging from the trailer, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 clearly feels just like the third entry in a franchise. Sonic and Knuckles at the moment are frenemies who’ve banded collectively, alongside Tails, to type the Sonic Crew. However when confronted with Shadow’s anger and nihilism, they don’t have any selection however to staff up with Robotnik to take him down. Personally, I am simply hoping Shadow sooner or later says, “I’ll want a gun.”

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 hits theaters December twentieth.
