Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi is to go away the membership after Sunday’s season-ending conflict with Manchester United.
The Italian joined Albion in September 2022 after Graham Potter left for Chelsea and loved quick success, taking the membership to their highest-ever top-flight end of sixth.
That secured a marketing campaign on this season’s Europa League and noticed De Zerbi linked with a variety of high-profile jobs.
Brighton and De Zerbi made the final 16 of the Europa League, whereas they sit tenth within the Premier League with a sport to go.
“I am very sad to be leaving Brighton, but I am very proud of what my players and staff have achieved with the support of everyone at the club and our amazing fans in the past two historical seasons,” De Zerbi mentioned in a press release.
“We’ve got agreed to finish my time at Brighton in order that the membership and I can proceed to work in the best way that fits every of us greatest, following our personal concepts and visions, in addition to our work and human values.
“I have really enjoyed an intense and challenging two years working in the Premier League, not least competing in four major competitions this season. Leaving now provides me with time to take a break before deciding on my future plans.”
Whereas the information could come as a shock to some, there was appreciable hypothesis concerning the 44-year-old’s future for a while.
Requested in March about his place and the prospect of signing a brand new deal, he mentioned: “We didn’t find the agreement. The contract is a part of the future. It’s important for me, it’s important for everyone but it’s a small part, the big part is the plan. We have to speak with the club.”
Brighton proprietor Tony Bloom mentioned that the parting of how was a mutual one.
“Roberto has given us two excellent seasons of service in which he has led the club to new heights, not least our first ever European campaign which will live long in the memory of Albion fans,” he mentioned.
“We have mutually agreed to end Roberto’s contract at a time that suits both parties allowing us the earliest opportunity to plan for next season, and Roberto plenty of time to consider his next move and his future.
“I’m positive our followers will give Roberto and his workers an exquisite and absolutely deserved ship off on the Amex earlier than, throughout and after tomorrow’s match.
“In the meantime, I’d like to thank Roberto and his staff for all their hard work in the past two seasons. They all leave our club on good terms and with our very best wishes for the future.”
Andrea Maldera, Ricard Segarra, Marcattilio Marcattilii, Vincenzo Teresa, Agostino Tibaudi, Marcello Quinto and Enrico Venturelli will even depart after Sunday’s last Premier League sport.
Membership coaches Andrew Crofts and Jack Stern will stay with the membership.
