Retail Gross sales Elevated 0.1% in Might

On a month-to-month foundation, retail gross sales had been “virtually unchanged” from March to April (seasonally adjusted), and gross sales had been up 3.0 % from April 2023.

From the Census Bureau report:

Advance estimates of U.S. retail and meals providers gross sales for Might 2024, adjusted for seasonal variation and vacation and trading-day variations, however not for value modifications, had been $703.1 billion, up 0.1 % from the earlier month, and up 2.3 % above Might 2023. … The March 2024 to April 2024 % change was revised from nearly unchanged to down 0.2 %.
