The Crown Prosecution Service is reviewing a file of proof in relation to a Premier League footballer who was arrested on suspicion of rape.
The person, in his 30s, is accused of sexual offences between 2021 and 2023. The Metropolitan Police have now despatched their file to the CPS and the participant stays beneath investigation whereas enquiries proceed.
The footballer denies the allegations.
A spokesperson for the drive mentioned: “Met officers are investigating following a number of reports of alleged sexual offences between 2021 and 2023.
“A full file has been handed to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and detectives proceed to work with prosecutors.
“Those who have come forward to police continue to receive support from Met officers.”
The participant, who has not been named, was first arrested in July 2022 over a rape allegation made by a lady in her 20s.
Whereas in custody, he was additional arrested in relation to the alleged rape of a second girl in April 2021 and June that 12 months.
