A useless star seems to be dying once more, say astronomers who’ve noticed a pulsar that’s regularly dropping its spin.

Pulsars are a type of neutron star, that are themselves the remnants of an enormous star that reached the top of its life in a supernova explosion. They get their identify as a result of they spin quickly, often a number of instances a second, releasing beams of radiation that seem to “pulse” when seen from Earth.
